Donation Policy
1. Acceptance Criteria:
The E-Maktaba reserves the right to accept or decline any contribution, gift, or grant at its discretion. Gifts must align with the mission and purpose of the E-Maktaba.
2. Financial Security:
Irrevocable gifts that could jeopardize the donor's financial security under reasonable circumstances will not be accepted.
3. Tax Advice:
The E-Maktaba does not provide tax advice to donors. Donors are encouraged to consult their professional advisers regarding tax implications.
4. Types of Gifts Accepted:
The E-Maktaba accepts donations in the form of cash or publicly traded securities. In-kind services may be accepted at its discretion.
5. Review Policy:
Certain gifts, including real property, non-liquid securities, and contributions with restricted use, require prior review due to potential obligations or liabilities.
6. Acknowledgements:
Donors meeting tax requirements will receive acknowledgements for property donated. However, no value will be assigned to non-cash gifts.
7. Donor Intent:
The E-Maktaba respects donor intentions for restricted gifts and requests for anonymity. Information about anonymous donors will be restricted to relevant staff.
8. Compensation Prohibition:
The E-Maktaba does not compensate any third party for directing gifts or donors to the organization.
